Guide
Paste your text, choose a voice, follow the highlights, save local history, and generate MP3s when your Cloudflare backend is configured.
Use the Editor tab or desktop editor card to paste notes, chapters, scripts, or study material. Press Play in the sticky playback bar to begin browser speech.
ZEZE uses browser and operating-system voices for live playback. Voice availability varies by device. Speed controls and presets are inside the playback dock and Settings drawer.
The Reader highlights the current sentence and word where your browser supports speech boundaries. Click a sentence to seek there, or search from Settings.
Saved history is stored in IndexedDB in this browser on this device. It is not linked to an account and will not automatically appear on another phone or computer.
Use History Export to download a JSON backup. Import that backup on another browser to manually transfer saved items. Clearing browser data can remove local history.
Browser speech and MP3 generation are separate. MP3 generation sends text to a Cloudflare Pages Function, which calls the configured server-side OpenAI speech API and returns an audio file.
Browser playback generally stays in the browser subject to your browser and OS voice provider. MP3 generation sends text to the configured provider because audio must be generated server-side.
Use Editor and Reader tabs to avoid long scrolling. The bottom playback bar stays close to your thumb, while History, Settings, and MP3 tools open as drawers or sheets.
If voices do not appear, reload or try another browser. If MP3 generation says unavailable, configure the `OPENAI_API_KEY` Cloudflare Pages secret. If history disappears, check private browsing or cleared site data.
